First Thing’s First

They say, “You can take the girl out of Texas, but you can’t take Texas out of the girl.” Well, I’ve been out of the Lone Star State quite a few times in my life, and I can say with absolute certainty that no matter how many little corners of the world I get to experience, nothing can top whatever magic they put in our queso down here. And the fajitas. And margaritas. But mainly the queso.

Okay, promise this isn’t a food blog.

If you haven’t caught on by now, I was born and raised in Texas. Growing up, my family and I didn’t cover a whole lot of ground. The most exotic place I ventured to as a kid was the sand-covered coast of Florida. So when I had the amazing opportunity to visit France as a senior in high school, it pretty much rocked my world. I caught the travel bug; I caught it bad.

Fast forward to today. I work full time, but I take every hour of PTO and spare dollar I can muster to get out and see, do, experience, taste, absorb, EXPLORE… and I do it all on a budget. I hope this site gives someone else out there the inspiration to do the same and the resources to make it happen. Thanks for following along!
